St.
Peter's Secondary School was founded about forty-eight (47)
years ago by the Catholic Missionaries at Nkwatia-Kwahu in 1957.
In 2007, the school will be celebrating its golden jubilee.
From
very humble beginnings, St. Peter's by dint of hard work, has
wormed itself to the pinnacle of academic excellence. The school
has recorded a consistent level of impressive results at the
examinations conducted by the West African Examinations Council.
In the 2002/2003 Academic year rankings of Senior Secondary
School's SSCE results, St. Peter's placed forth (4th)
in the whole country. Indications are that the school placed
second (2nd) in the 2003/2004 rankings.
The beauty of St.
Peter's achievement is in the consistency in its excellence. The
school has stayed among the best five schools in the country
over the last three decades, according to available records. No
wonder, it has unofficially won the accolade "the latter day
saint", like the proverbial Biblical St. Paul.
Also in the
Annual National Science and Mathematics Quiz conducted
nation-wide, St. Peters has never won a position below forth.
Currently, the school is the reigning runner-up in the 2004
competition.
In
2007, St. Peter's will be celebrating its golden jubilee. As an
anniversary package, the 1975 and 1976 Year Groups are leading
the effort of the entire Old Boys Association to construct a
modern library facility to be donated during the Golden Jubilee
Celebration.
The
estimated cost of the project is ¢2.6 billion
(£153,000), covering the construction and furnishing of
the facility. Copies of the architectural drawings of the
proposed library project can be provided at your request.
The
project committee has earmarked March 2005 for the commencement
of the project. We therefore wish to humbly appeal to you, your
Organization and all friends of St. Peter's to kindly support
our endeavour either in cash or kind.
Counting
on your generosity.

Addendum
by London Executives:
Dear Friend,
This is your chance to make a difference in the welfare of the
Institution that has made a positive difference in your life
today. It would be a very sad affair if in the years to come you
were not able to tell your children or even say in
self-contemplation, that you contributed to what promises to be
an outstanding and fitting donation to our Alma Mater. The
Appeal above needs no emphasis except to say that, if you are in
the UK and would like to contribute, the UK Branch of St.
Peter's Old Boys association will be coordinating all donations.
Please either send your cheque to the Treasurer, Mr. Mike Osafo
or send payment directly to our Abbey National account, details as follows:

Contact Mr. Mike Osafo
for Account Number details (mike.osafo@talktalk.net))
so that he can record and acknowledge your donation. No donation
is too small, but we hope that you will be as generous as you
can, given the enormity of the amount to be raised in such a
short time. Dignitati Hominum.
PS: If you
know of any organization or Charity that would be sympathetic to
our cause, please send details to e.asante@prion.ucl.ac.uk,
so that we may approach them.
